Hello Peeps!
Long time no see!!
Yes my first year of college is complete! It was a whirlwind I must say. My first semester of college was fun and full of new experiences. I made a lot of new friends and a few really close ones. I have to admit going to a college was weird, no parents, had to make new friends, learning how to go off campus without a car, and manage your food plan and debit. It's a lot of responsible for a new young adult. Some of my friends used all there debit in the first 3-6 weeks. Yikes! So they had nothing until either their parents put more money on it or their friends paid for them which often I did for them.
I am hard of hearing as some of you might know and some of you might not know, but I am. I enjoy being hard of hearing, I went to a college that had both a hearing and deaf population. It was awesome. I could sign to those who are deaf/hard of hearing and I could talk to those who talked. Mostly I stuck with the deaf/hard of hearing population. My friends are mostly deaf and hard of hearing.
I focused a lot on my school work, sometimes I would kick out my roommate and our friends out so I could study and focus better. They respected me for that so they left or didn't come in. My roommate and I grew up together since we were in kindergarten and we didn't argue a lot which is good. She knows how important school is for me. My first semester grades were A's and B's and for my second semester they were also A's and B's. So for my GPA I got 3.4-3.5 overall. Which I am very proud of.
As of right now I am in between majors. I am in Applied Computer Technology right now but I am looking at Web and Mobile Computing. The difference between them is Applied Computer Technology is more hands on with the network and creating a computer, and for Web and Mobile Computing is more codes and creating websites. Next fall I will be in my original major which is Applied Computer Technology but I will be taking some classes of Web and Mobile Computing to see if I like it. I will be taking half and half next semester. I am so excited I can't wait.
I joined Tech Crew at college. I did it in high school and I am continuing it into college. I love Tech Crew so much, it's the one place that makes me happy to go. This year we did Tribes, Godspell, and Sherlock Holmes the Crucifer of Blood. The technology in there was so different from college, like the telex wasn't even a telex it was video chat because we are all deaf on the crew so we can't hear through the telex so its easier to video chat to people. We all had different colors. Like since I'm on backstage left we were color yellow, the right was orange, booth was purple(backstage manager), green(projections) and blue(lights). For the sound guy he was on his own cause he could hear and couldn't sign so all he had to do were the sound affects and the voice actors.
I did miss home a lot when I was at college, especially my cat. I love my cat he is so goofy and silly and I love him. My mom would FaceTime me and show me him when I was having a stressful day or had a lot of work to do. Now that I've been home for a few weeks now I just want to go back to college. I am currently looking for a job because college isn't cheap. Plus, I am super bored. I go for bike rides, skateboard, trying to read a book, and so much more but its no fun when friends live so far away. I still see Anna once in a while, she is always busy doing something. We do hang out on weekends though.
I will be going a lot of places this summer with our camper and my friends and family. I will be taking lots of pictures and be blogging and Instagraming(@nerdybeautifulunique) and Snapchatting(Katiecrazy3). Go follow me on those and see what I am up to.
This was a lengthy one. I just wanted to have a chat with you all since I haven't in a really long time. Hope you don't mind.
Hope you enjoyed!! :)
